The effects of EFT are achieved by using a combination of focused psychology whilst tapping on specific meridian energy points on the head and upper body. (For this reason EFT has often been referred to as accupuncture without the needles.)

Here's a tapping points map -

It is thought that the tapping process of EFT stimulates a part of the brain which controls the primitive flight or fight response. This results in an internal shift from stress to relaxation as  stress hormones - like cortisol and adrenaline, that are involved in the stress response - are reduced. So, if stagefright or feeling out of control before or during a peformance is an issue, then with EFT there really is light at the end of the tunnel. What a thought!
